Serum With Retinol Helps You Fight the Aging Process

Personal care products usually come in the form of a serum or cream. But most consumers prefer to use serums because according to some dermatologists, serums are much more effective compared to creams.

Serums are absorbed by the skin faster than creams. They easily penetrate the skin and can quickly go deep into the layers of the skin because they are very light, giving the users effective results instantly. This is because serums are made of very small molecules that is why they are very effective.

Serums are commonly water-based and don’t contain oil, that is why this is being preferred by most users, especially those who have oily skin.
Most anti aging and skin care products are produced in the form of a serum. This is proven to be very effective in erasing wrinkles, age spots, sun damage and other visible signs of aging, and in treating dark spots, dryness and skin pigmentation.

Majority of anti aging products come in the form of a serum with retinol.
Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A. It has been proven as one of the most effective and powerful anti aging ingredients and has been used in many skin care products since the 1970s, in different forms and concentrations.

Retinol is particularly effective in smoothing and eliminating wrinkles. It is also used to lighten brown spots, unclog the pores of the skin and improve skin texture. This function is due to the fact that retinol promotes and increases cell turnover. It allows the skin to shed off old and damaged cells and make room for new ones.
Retinol will also make the skin firm and luminous because once applied, it thickens the second layer of the skin and thins the surface.

Retinol also stimulates the body to produce collagen, a protein that maintains the skin’s elasticity, suppleness and firmness, and works to prevent the breakdown of produced collagen as it go deeper into the skin. Collagen in the body decreases as people grow in age, resulting to the appearance of wrinkles, age spots, fine lines and laugh lines. But with retinol, the amount of collagen will be increased and the signs of aging will gradually diminish.

Aside from that, retinol makes the skin moisturized because it helps in the production of glycosaminoglycans, substances that keep the tissues in the body hydrated.
Since serums are more effective than creams, its effectivity is much more enhanced with the natural functions of retinol.

A serum with retinol is very effective in erasing the visible signs of aging as it helps the skin shed off dead cells, allow for the growth of new skin cells, and help the body produce more collagen to make the skin firmer, smoother and younger looking.

Serum with retinol can even be used by people who have dry or very dry skin.
Though effective, consumers are warned that retinol can cause redness so care must be taken at all times while using serum with retinol.
